Hundreds of free goldfish and dozens of varieties of aquatic plants are available for your water lily pond from members of the Geneva Area Pond Club. This non-profit club was created last year so that local water gardeners can visit and be inspired by each other's ponds.
Free monthly meetings with snacks and drinks are held on the first Sunday of every month from 2 to 6 p.m. (14:00-18:00). Visitors are always welcome with prior notice. These casual get-togethers take place in members' homes and gardens in the towns around Geneva, Vaud, and neighboring France. Conversations in French and English are shared both by rank amateurs planning their first pond and serious experts with many ponds and years of experience. Topics include making ponds safe for children, feeding and breeding koi and goldfish, eliminating and preventing algae, choosing and propagating aquatic and bog plants, and other subjects of interest to water gardeners.
The club's website offers free membership with no obligation, as well as full details about the location and subject of each month's meeting. Its Message Board section includes dozens of informative articles on such topics as designing and constructing ponds, creating trouble-free biological filters, excluding fish-eating herons, and feeding fish with kitchen staples.

Our association "l'Oasis des vétérans" is looking for foster homes in the French speaking part of Switzerland. Vets bills will be paid by our association. If you have lots of time and love dogs why not try and foster one in your home until if finds a permanent home?
