AIWC-Lausanne is one of the largest international women's clubs in Switzerland. We have approximately 500 members from 35 different nationalities who offer a unique blend of backgrounds, life experiences and cultural diversity. Founded in 1968, we have a proud history of promoting fellowship among English-speaking women in Canton Vaud. We offer numerous group activities, presentations and workshops which focus on issues most important to women and their families. We offer weekly, monthly and annual events that help further develop social networks and promote continuing education. We actively participate in the community through collaboration with local businesses and organizations, as well as engaging in philanthropic endeavors. We sponsor many fund raising activities for the charities that we advocate, in addition to partnering with other organizations and supporting their worthy causes. Each year we organize the Living in Lausanne Course—A comprehensive 3-day orientation that helps newcomers who have just moved to the area. For 20 years this valuable program, supplemented by our 200+ page reference guide, has helped many establish a social network, learn about their new home, and integrate into the community.

Club purpose :
The primary purpose of the ICL is to bring together multinational men and women to share social and cultural interests.
The ICL is non profit, non religious and apolitical. There are no racial barriers. The working language of the ICL is English but any language may be spoken.
Club activities :
Our aims are basically of a social nature. We want also to provide the opportunity for people having recently moved to the Nyon - Lausanne - Montreux area to make social contacts and get acquainted with their new surroundings.
In the past we have organized lakeside picnics, Visits to CERN, to various exhibits and cultural shows, ski weekends, talks on topical subjects. Slide shows on trips to far-away places, river rafting, gourmet cooking and wine tasting, Japanese and Turkish evenings, etc.

The ESC is a social club, devoted to having fun, whilst sharing a common language : English.
Every month the Club organises at least three events, including gastronomic, outdoor and cultural outings. Everyone is welcome to join the ESC - irrespective of nationality or mother-tongue - and the Club is a great way to practise your English and have fun at the same time. Half our members have a different mother-tongue to English.

The Royal British Legion Swiss Branch was created in 1947 by British and Commonwealth ex-Service personnel who came to live and work in Switzerland after World War II.
The Legion's aim is to promote the welfare of the British serving and ex-Service community. It does this through schemes for resettlement, rehabilitation, retraining, and sheltered employment. Other help is extended to spouses and dependants of Legion members, including emotional support, hardship relief, residential homes, hospital and home visiting, pensions advice and pilgrimages to war graves, etc.
RBL ordinary membership is open to serving and ex-Service personnel and associate membership to anybody, no matter what their nationality, who agrees with the Legion's aims and objectives. The annual fee in Switzerland is currently CHF 40. The Swiss Branch has some 200 members who may participate in social activities such as the spring and autumn luncheons, and Remembrance Ceremonies, particularly in November when there is the annual Poppy Appeal to raise funds for the Legion's welfare activities. The Branch has been consistently one of the overseas branches collecting the most money for the Appeal.

The Village Players are a friendly and informal group who have been entertaining themselves and others in the Lausanne area with amateur theatre, music, song and dance for over 25 years.
In addition to the wonderful public productions the group puts on each year,members have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of monthly events including playreadings, poetry recitals, musical evenings and social events.
