Network Events

On a quarterly basis, Packimpex organises a wide range of events in Bern, Basel, Geneva, Lausanne, Neuchatel, Zug, and Zurich. These events allow you to learn more about Swiss culture and to build up a network in your new home town and are great fun to attend. More information is available at www.packimpex.ch/events.

Here are the latest goings on at the Galerie Quint-Essences...

The gallery now consists of three exhibition rooms instead of one; two for invited artists and one for the members of the Association Art à la cARTe, which is growing nicely.

We are still changing exhibitions every month but often have two artists at a time, and frequently from different countries. Our goal of ethnic and cultural diversity, social change, peace and well being through the arts remains our guiding principle. Our hours are still Tues. 2-6pm, Wed-Sat 9-12 am and 2-6pm. Our e-mail is still This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and our phone +41 79 255 03 08.

We are presently presenting two abstract painters until September 29th: Valia Solène from Rotalier, France, acrylics, series in blues, primarily, quiet pools of meditation and peace, and Michel Bühler from Bevaix, Switzerland, gouaches and India ink, more intellectual, seeking roads to and from the self in a search for better understanding. Both artists leave the visitor with a sense of calm and joy, a moment of reflection away from the stress of today's high powered world.

At the end of the month is the traditional Wine Festival from the 23-25 September with a parade of flowered floats, wine tasting everywhere, and in the Rue du Neubourg where the gallery is, evenings with jazz, soul and rock bands, as well as great food and super coffees and teas by yours truly for the overly enthusiastic wine tasters so they can get home a little more safely!

Next month, from October 1-29, we are going to be hosting Marcel Taton, a Belgian sculptor who is relatively well known by European collectors. His work is unique in that he combines bronze (lost wax procedure), blown glass and transformed antique collectibles in funky, fun and a tad sarcastic, but never overly so, sculptures of all sizes.

It is also highly compassionate when it comes to Man's foibles; he teases with his take-offs on traditional themes and conventional knowledge and shares his passion for joy and laughter in works that never grow old, only obtain a patina of timeless pleasure. Opening Night October 1 from 7pm on.

An evening of convivial discussion around a pot luck meal (presented artistically if you please!) will take place on the second Wednesday of the month - prior reservations required, with a mention of Arts Gastro in the subject, please.

And finally, a concert of Romantic Classical Music by well-known Russian pianist Yanina Filatova de Pourtalès will take place on October 27 at 7pm, after a welcome cup of coffee or a glass of wine. A donation of CHF10 is suggested, more if the concert is to your liking, in the little basket at the door.

Our Saturday Art-Teas are still taking place every week from 3-5pm with teas and coffees available for CHF3.-
