We are an English-speaking church located in the centre of Berne. Our aim is to grow in all aspects of our Christianity. We know that this is a life-long process and so, using the Bible as our foundation, we strive to encourage each other to see this through to completion.

Meetings are held at 10:30 am on Sunday.

Check the website for worship times.

Lift is about people with different backgrounds, nationalities and languages coming together through the common language of English. We long to honor God through our lives (believe), teaming with each other on the journey (belong), growing as we serve Him and each other (become). We desire to be a voice of hope for those around us.

The people of Shema come from all walks of life and believe the Good News must be good news for everybody or it is not good news at all. At their core, they embrace Judeo-Christian essentials measuring 'goodness' by what they practice, who they're becoming, what they embrace, what they create, and whom they include. They want to 'bless' the world around them through living out hands-on social action in a movement-for-good.

Shema is kind of hard to pinpoint because they are still emerging (and they plan to stay that way)... They are 'generously orthodox': they are protestant and post-protestant, Methodist and Catholic, liberal and conservative, mystical/poetic and biblical, green and incarnational, depressed-yet-hopeful, emergent and unfinished Christians (i.e. searching to follow Jesus Christ and to become like Him).

In Shema Community they prefer those things, which are organic, and they like to keep people involved where the action is so they can make sure to keep their hands "dirty". They throw parties, tell stories, encourage, mentor and have fun. Most of all, they actively pursue to be part of the solution in our city and in our world.

You are very welcome at our gatherings every Sunday @ 12.30 @ Avenue d'Aïre 75, 1203 Genève.
